About Drawpo
Drawpo is what started me going right along with this blog. Now what is a Drawpo? It’s a drawing with a poem in it. The poem may or may not have a connection with the drawing; the drawing too may or may not be connected with the poem. The aim is to use the two art forms and create a single work while treating them as independent art forms. At the moment, the drawing is in black and white, digital; the poem is written into the drawing using a Wacom tablet and pen.
It is now February 2016. Things have changed a bit with Drawpo. The tablet and pen have sort of worn away, they won’t do what I want them to do. So for sometime now, I content myself with just the ‘po’ not the ‘draw’. Hope you enjoy them.
August 2017: Have been polishing and submitting my short stories. Working on a collection of those; my dear friends tell me that they want to know more about what happens to my characters. I do see a couple of stories growing into short novels. Will keep updating on my progress.
I love the idea of a “Drawpo”. I have done Ekphrastic poetry but never heard of this before. Can I use this technique in my writing group please? With credit to the source of course!
Hi Surabhi,
Of course, yes. Have fun with it. Do let me know how it goes.
